BRAND CONCEPT
"It's hot, let's have some gelato!" Francesco Procopio Cuto, the inventor of Sicilian gelato and sorbet, is the inspiration behind Gelato Lab, a project dedicated to paying tribute to him and the place where gelato was born - Sicily.
The design concept for Gelato Lab draws inspiration from the timeless charm and nautical elegance of the Southern Italian island of Sicily. The gelato experience is designed to transport customers to the sun-kissed shores of the Mediterranean, using elements from the island's rich maritime heritage and vibrant coastal lifestyle. The pop-up store will feature a coastal color palette and nautical accents such as sailor stripes, ropes, and boat details, with vintage-inspired furnishings and Memphis style signage to evoke a sense of nostalgia. This creates an inviting ambiance that mimics the quaint coastal gelaterias found along Sicily's charming coasts. ts.
